To the credit of The UPS Store owners and employees, they continue to offer what has been described as essential services to their communities. The times we currently face is like nothing any of us have faced before now. It is important for all The UPS Store owners to know that The Association is working to support all The UPS Stores. As you read through this edition of The Voice you will see the efforts The Association is taking on behalf of YOU, the most valuable asset in The UPS Store system, The UPS Store franchisee. The Association is working on behalf of all store owners to provide: 1. Up-to-date information about legislative efforts, 2. Requested financial assistance from TUPSSI Inc. and UPS, 3. Increased communication through The Source, The Association’s live uncensored communication network, 4. The Association Mobile App for alerts direct to your phone, 5. Ongoing support through The Association’s three websites and learning centers. 6. The drive to increase membership, via Target 51, to have a stronger voice with TUPSSI Inc. and UPS concerning The UPS Store operations. Executive board members are in constant communication working to provide support for owners, staff and family so they can provide much needed support for their local communities. Realizing the potential impact that Covid-19 may have on The UPS Store network, The Association board has been working on a Covid-19 Assistance Package to recommend to TUPSSI Inc, and UPS (Management). This package provides for relief sought in several areas of our business that Management could provide, and that would have a direct impact on certain stores future viability. The proposed package has now been delivered to Management. We are now sharing the details of this proposal with the franchise community concerning the proposal. A lot of work and input has gone into the Association’s proposal seeking a very responsible approach to a potentially devastating situation for some franchisees. The proposal offers a specific review of each individual store’s situation through this medical emergency providing for relief in different ways depending on the severity of effect by Covid-19 on each operation. Management has shared how critical they feel The UPS Store, our owners, and our employees are to our customers and our communities. Management’s level of support of this proposed Covid-19 Assistance Package will determine exactly how essential Management feels our stores, our employees, our customers, and we are to the network and our communities. We, The Association, have tried to “Think Better” with The Covid-19 Assistance Package proposal by looking at a lot of different areas that could potentially bring financial relief to our owners. This proposal will effort to support the stores so that they can continue to provide what has been described as “our essential services to the community”. Each store will be impacted in a different way by this unprecedented event. There will be some commonalities, but we have tried to address many different areas, in a very responsible way. Each store will be afforded the opportunity for financial relief that will address their particular needs. The goal was to provide a financial safely net for our owners, our employees, and the franchise so that we can remain financially whole so that we can continue to provide for ourselves, our employees, our customers and our community. Now it is up to Management to support this proposed Covid-19 Assistance Package and determine exactly how essential Management feels our stores, our employees, our customers, and we are to the network and our communities. You need to apply by the 17th of the month for the following 1st of the month effective date. Enrollment occurs every month throughout the year.
